What is the Grapevine Gazette?

The Grapevine Gazette by Dan Koller is a newsletter that aims to be a resource for residents of the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District and its namesake cities. I watch every meeting of the Grapevine City Council, the Colleyville City Council, and the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees, because you don’t have time for all that.

Who is Dan Koller?

I was an editor at The Dallas Morning News from 2000 to 2008, and I led the newsroom at Park Cities People and its affiliated newspapers from 2008 to 2014. During that span, the staff of People Newspapers were honored multiple times by the Texas Press Association and the Local Media Association.

I’ve been publishing the Coppell Chronicle on a weekly basis since February of 2021. In January of 2025, I added the Grapevine Gazette to my plate.

What do subscribers say about the Coppell Chronicle?

  • “It’s really well-written with facts, all sides of an issue, and some light witty humor!” — May Olson

  • “I don’t know how he gets to all the places and knows all the things that he does. I find myself looking for his name in the comments of posts to get factual information and an unbiased voice of reason.” — Laura Wortman

  • “We all loved the Citizens’ Advocate, but you are taking local news to a whole new level. Why anyone in our city doesn’t subscribe is a head-scratcher. Local politics and government has a far bigger impact on my life than anything that comes out of Washington.” — Ken Kuehn

  • “I look forward to it every Sunday!” — Darla Mann
